The McMinn County government is composed of offices established by the Tennessee state constitution
and other appointed positions.
Within McMinn County there are several cities. Athens has the largest population and uses the city manager-council form of government. Etowah has the second largest population and uses the city manager-commission form of government.
The smaller incorporated towns in McMinn County are Calhoun, Englewood and Niota. These are
administered by their own elected mayors & boards of commissioners.
